Dr. Ran is an expert in dynamic transportation network models, traffic simulation and control, traffic information system, and Connected Automated Vehicle Highway (CAVH). He has led the development and deployment of various traffic information systems and technologies in the US and China. He has trained younger generations of professors and experts in traffic engineering and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) in the US, China, Korea, and other countries.

Hanif Nurindra Nazaroedin joined the CAVH group in Fall 2022. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Gan, Rui

Rui Gan joined the CAVH group in 2023 Spring. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in traffic engineering from Southeast University in 2020 and 2022 respectively. His main research directions are traffic flow and vehicle microscopic behavior prediction, connected automated vehicle control, intelligent transportation systems, and traffic data analysis.

Ma, Junyi

Junyi Ma joined the CAVH group in Fall 2023. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She is interested in connected automated vehicles highway and intelligent transportation systems.

Tang, Weizhe

Weizhe Tang is a PhD student specializing in autonomous driving research. His work focuses on advancing the technology behind self-driving vehicles, exploring areas such as machine learning, sensor fusion, and real-time decision-making systems. Through his research, he aim to contribute to safer and more efficient transportation solutions in the future.

Liu, Jiaxi

Jiaxi Liu joined the CAVH group in Fall 2024. He earned both his B.E. and M.E. degrees in Mechanical Engineering from the School of Vehicle and Mobility at Tsinghua University. Currently, he is pursuing a Ph.D. in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. His research interests focus on cooperative perception, vehicle-road-cloud integration systems, and LLM-assisted autonomous driving.

MAJEEDI, ABSAR

Absar Majeedi joined the CAVH group in Fall 2023. He is currently pursuing a MS degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering at University of Wisconsin – Madison.
His research interests involve the integration of machine learning withing the field of transportation engineering, with a focus on advance traffic prediction, data analysis, traffic flow, connected automated vehicles, intelligent transportation systems and traffic safety enhancement.
