Dr. Cheng received his Ph.D. degree in Civil & Environmental Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2011. His research areas include automated highway and driving systems, mobile traffic sensor modeling, large-scale transportation data management and analytics, and traffic operations and control.

Dr. Parker received his Ph.D. degree in Computer Sciences from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2005. He is the IT Program Manager of the Traffic Operations and Safety Laboratory (TOPS lab) and Database Administrator for the WisTransPortal archived data management system.

Andrea Bill received her M.S. degree in Civil & Environmental Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She is Traffic Safety Engineer Research Program Manager in Traffic Operations and Safety Laboratory (TOPS lab).

Steve Rau is TransPortal Systems Administrator for Traffic Operations and Safety Laboratory (TOPS Lab).

Shawn Leight is Vice President and COO at CBB. Shawn oversees day-to-day project delivery for a wide range of transportation services and clients. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point and his Master of Science in Transportation Engineering at the University of Wisconsin at Madison.

Sicheng Fu joined the CAVH group in 2019 Fall. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. His main research directions are connected vehicles highway, early warning signals, vehicle trajectory prediction, and crash data analysis.

Huyao Wu joined the CAVH group in 2019 Spring. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering at University of Wisconsin Madison. His main research directions are connected and automated vehicle highway, vehicle motion control, decision-making and trajectory optimization.

Rei Tamaru joined the CAVH group in Fall 2021. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. His main research directions are the development of the connected system in urban cities and the intelligent transportation system operating adaptively with data-driven capability.

Jingwen Zhu joined the CAVH group in 2021 spring. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering at University of Wisconsin–Madison. She is engaged in research into the impact of various weather conditions on Connected and Automated Vehicle Highways.

Junwei You joined the CAVH group in 2022 Fall. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering at University of Wisconsin Madison. His main research directions are connected and automated vehicles highway, deep learning and the application of econometric theories in intelligent transportation systems.

Hanif Nurindra Nazaroedin joined the CAVH group in Fall 2022. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Rui Gan joined the CAVH group in 2023 Spring. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in traffic engineering from Southeast University in 2020 and 2022 respectively. His main research directions are traffic flow and vehicle microscopic behavior prediction, connected automated vehicle control, intelligent transportation systems, and traffic data analysis.

Junyi Ma joined the CAVH group in Fall 2023. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She is interested in connected automated vehicles highway and intelligent transportation systems.

Weizhe Tang is a PhD student specializing in autonomous driving research. His work focuses on advancing the technology behind self-driving vehicles, exploring areas such as machine learning, sensor fusion, and real-time decision-making systems. Through his research, he aim to contribute to safer and more efficient transportation solutions in the future.

Jiaxi Liu joined the CAVH group in Fall 2024. He earned both his B.E. and M.E. degrees in Mechanical Engineering from the School of Vehicle and Mobility at Tsinghua University. Currently, he is pursuing a Ph.D. in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. His research interests focus on cooperative perception, vehicle-road-cloud integration systems, and LLM-assisted autonomous driving.

Xinmeizi Cai joined the CAVH group in fall 2022. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering at UW-Madison. She is interested in transportation and urban planning to build intelligent cities.
